We recently went to the Hyatt Regency in Lake Tahoe and stayed at one of their fabulous lakeside cottages with our family. The hotel is very nice and we really enjoyed the alpine feel of the decor. Here is my review of the cottages and the hotel amenities.

The main part of the hotel is across the street from the lake but, the cottages are right on the lake which had us with a great lake view and walk out from our back porch on to the “beach.” The cottage had a small kitchen and living area with very nice ambiance. It was decorated with a rustic mountain feel that we really enjoyed. The living area had a really nice fireplace and large dining area that could accommodate 6 easily.

Attached to the living area was a king room to one side and we also reserved the double room to the other side which gave us plenty of room to spread out! We had the entire bottom floor of the cabin.

Overall, the rooms were very nicely done and we were very comfortable. It felt like staying in a home more so then a hotel. We had a great porch out the back and used the fireplace everyday! The lake is absolutely stunning and enjoyed walking out by the water too! The fire pits were also a great amenity that we found to be fun at night while watching the sunset.

Other hotel amenities that we utilized included the small casino, which we liked and the heated pool and hot tub which were also fun. The club lounge was well presented and we ate breakfast there most mornings as a Diamond member.

Bottom Line

I would definitely recommend this hotel. It has a very nice feel along with great views and location that make it a winner for Hyatt! We will definitely go back and try to get another cottage next time!
