As a reminder, today is the last day in the year to earn your airline fee credits with credit cards for the year ending 2014. Specific credits I’m referring to are the $200 statement credit with The Platinum Card® from American Express and the $300 airline fee credit with The Ritz-Carlton Rewards® Credit Card. I called both of my cards this morning to confirm whether I had maxed these credits out or not.

Airline Fee Credits With Credit Cards

First call was to American Express. I had selected American Airlines as my partner but had forgot to claim the full $200 airline fee credit with my The Platinum Card® from American Express. So I was able to close this credit out with a few purchases at American Airlines.

Next up was a call to Chase to see if I had maxed out the $300 travel credit for the Ritz Carlton Chase card which I picked up from the great 140,000 bonus point offer earlier this year.

Bottom Line

I was able to go online and buy some club passes for the remaining airline credit amounts I had available to me because I keep the Ritz Carlton card and the The Platinum Card® from American Express in my wallet.

You can read more here and here about the cards and how to maximize these great travel benefits.
