United Airlines flew its new daily non-stop flight yesterday for the first time between Houston and Santiago, Chile on a Boeing 767-300.
- Flight 847 departs Houston’s George Bush Intercontinental Airport daily at 9:35 p.m., arriving at Arturo Merino Benitez International Airport in Santiago at 10:10 a.m. the following day.
- Flight 846 departs Santiago at 11 p.m., arriving in Houston at 5:55 a.m. the next day.
United is also adding flights to other destinations in Latin America and the Caribbean from its hubs. New daily flights between Denver and Panama City, Panama, began on Dec. 3 on a Boeing 737-800.
- Flight 1697 departs Denver International Airport at 12:10 p.m. and arrives at Tocumen International Airport at 8 p.m.
- Flight 1698 departs Panama City at 9:15 a.m. and arrives in Denver at 1:25 p.m
The airline will also launch new weekly flights from Chicago to Belize City, Belize, and from Houston to Punta Cana, Dominican Republic.
The Chicago to Belize service will be Saturday only, and begins December 20, 2014. It will operate thru August 15, 2015.
The Houston to Punta Cana service will operate year-round, increasing to daily service for the summer peak-travel period from June 4 to Aug. 17, 2015.
Bottom Line:
New routes are always welcome additions, and the Caribbean and Latin America seem to be hot spots for growth as United, Spirit, American and JetBlue all are adding additional routes and linking new cities in late 2014 and throughout 2015.

When will the Chicago to Belize non-stop flights be available for booking? The United website is not currently showing this as an option.
@Brian – That’s weird. I called United and they said the flight – number 1150 – departs Chicago at 8:05am on Saturday December 20th and they still have 2 seats to sell. Keep in mind that it’s Saturday only service. Maybe that is the issue?
I am looking at dates in May. I tried May 9th – May 16th, but the United website tells me there are no nonstop flights available for this destination.
