Free Drinks, Honey Roasted Peanuts, And New Beers On Southwest Airlines

Last week, we suggested five ways to get a free drink on Southwest Airlines. One of the five suggestions was checking your mailbox for free drink coupons from Chase for Southwest Airlines Rapid Rewards Card Members. Well, my set of four free drink coupons came in the mail earlier this week – just in time to try two new beers, and the new honey roasted peanuts on Southwest.

IMG_0459Starting this weekend, Southwest will be removing Heineken and Corona and replacing it with Leinenkugel Snow Drift Porter and Dos Equis Lager. These two beers will be on board with three returning beers: Miller Light, Bud Light and Fat Tire Amber Ale.

Southwest is also transitioning towards their annual rotation back into honey roasted peanuts for 2015.  Honey roasted peanuts are in the yellow bag, dry roasted peanuts (which will be going away) in the blue bag, and pretzels stay in the red bag.

Bottom Line:

I am curious to try a Snow Drift Porter, but hands down, Fat Tire is my on-board beer choice. As for cocktails, I like the fire of Wild Turkey on the rocks!  As for wine – Southwest Airlines can keep their Chardonnay and Merlot.  Cheers!
