Well, it looks like the acquisition of Kimpton Hotels by IHG is now complete so, I took to their websites to see if I could get some more information on how the rewards programs will function now that Kimpton is owned by IHGÂ and to see if there were any changes at all.

Here’s what I found
It looks like for now, that Kimpton will continue to run as a standalone business which means normal bookings will remain as they were. In addition, Kimpton’s website still has their Karma Rewards up and running so, looks like for now the acquisition has not combined the 2 programs as we expected. It will be interesting to see if this remains true, as the acquisition gets a little older.
Bottom Line
For now, looks like you can’t earn IHG points at Kimpton and vice versa. It appears that the Kimpton Karma program is remaining intact, at least for now.
