Check out this cool video as reported by the DailyMail, of an Etihad 777 looking like it is hovering in the air upon landing at Manchester Airport during what appears to be pretty strong wind. It’s incredible how the plane looks like it is just hanging there while coming in for landing as it’s coming against a strong head wind.

The video was posted on Twitter by user@philip2004.  “Speaking to MailOnline Travel, @philip2004 from Stockport, said ‘I’d say the wind was gusting at about 35 miles per hour.”
“‘I never fear the aircraft landing but it did look nice and they will land ok.”

I love watching videos like this. Planes are just cool! Since I’m not a pilot, it always amazes me seeing the skill that comes into play for such a smooth landing.

The aircraft is not hovering at all, it’s just a tilted viewing angle.
Winds were being reported at 19 knots, which is just under 22 mph.
Nothing special to see, just an extreme telephoto shot.
You might want to look up the word “hovering”. This plane was flying, not hovering.
