If you’ve ever flown on the Boeing 787 Dreamliner, it’s hard to not be impressed. The windows are 30% larger and the cabin is pressurized at a lower altitude than other planes which helps to reduce jet lag and improve air quality.

Plus, the engines have noise cancelling technology so you can sleep easier on long flights — not to mention the colorful mood lighting on the ceiling and sides of the cabin. It’s what’s above your seat that caught our attention. It’s not just luggage in the overhead bins.

Even though the 787 is a single story jetliner (unlike the Boeing 747 and Airbus A380), there are crew quarters above the overhead bins in the Boeing 787.

This is according to an article in Mirror which recently toured crew sleeping areas and took some pictures of the spaces too.

Some of the most notable airlines flying the Boeing 787 Dreamliner include United Airlines, American Airlines, Virgin Atlantic, British Airways, Air Canada, Norwegian Airlines.

Have you ever flown on the Boeing 787? Now you know what’s above your head!
