The Grand Hyatt Baha Mar is one of three resorts along with the SLS Baha Mar and the Rosewood Baha Mar located within Baha Mar in Nassau, Bahamas. The Grand Hyatt Baha Mar has 1800 rooms including 230 suites and residences and is a World of Hyatt Category 5 property, meaning free night awards start at 20,000 points per night, whereas Points + Cash is offered at 10,000 points and $125 per night.

As a Globalist member, I was welcomed upon check-in and informed I had been upgraded to Deluxe Ocean View room in the East Tower. When I stayed there, only the East Tower was open, however the West Tower will be opening soon. The Grand Club is located in the lobby of the West Tower, and access is extended for Globalist members.

Getting to the property from the airport will run you around $25 in a taxi, which is only about a 20 minute drive from Lynden Pindling Nassau International Airport.

Grand Club

The Grand Club is open daily from 6:30am-9pm. Breakfast is served from 6:30am-10:30am, and appetizers are served from 5pm-9pm. The lounge is open throughout the day with soft drinks and bottled water. In the evening, beer, wine, and a decent selection of liquor is complimentary.

The Grand Club offers plenty of both indoor and outdoor seating areas. If you choose to sit outside, you’ll have a great view of the fountain show in the evening.

Pools and Beach

The Grand Hyatt Baha Mar has several swimming pools and whirlpools scattered throughout the property as well as beach access, with umbrellas and chaise lounges. There is also sunscreen available at every pool, which is a nice feature.

Bottom Line

Overall I was very pleased with the Grand Hyatt Baha Mar, as it’s still a brand new property and I can’t wait for the properties at Baha Mar to open as they’ll have a bunch more restaurants and nightlife. We did dine at Katsuya one night, which I’d recommend.

As a Globalist, I was exempt from the $32 nightly resort fee, which includes use of the non-motorized watercrafts including kayaks, stand-up paddleboards, reef boards, and sail boats as well as access to the fitness center and spa facilities.

I learned that the developer of Baha Mar is a huge fan of Las Vegas and there are many aspects here that can be seen in Sin City. For instance, the fountain show resembles that of Bellagio, the red color scheme of the casino is similar to Wynn, and the water wall entrance looks of that of Aria.

As for the fountain show, it’s presented nightly at 8pm, 9pm, 9:30pm, and 10pm, and was incredible. You can view from the terrace of the Grand Club, or in the front of the property.
