  1. Yes there is. It’s a form of discrimination. The military is a job. That’s it. A job. There is no draft, they are not indentured servants, they’re paid a salary. Over the years it has become less about “dedication” and more about benefits and freebies. When you treat one person differently than the person next to them (even now veteran status), it’s discrimination. Is it appropriate if airlines decided to fill first class cabins with ONLY people who are in the military and none who are earned-elite customers? Would you willingly sit in the middle in the back for that? If you’re honest, then the answer would be the same as mine. A no. How about discounts? If the airline charged people who didn’t apply for a certain job when they were 18 an extra 10% for the airfare? You’d gladly pay? Enough is enough. It’s a marketing gimmick by Harrahs that reduces availability for the rest of us who EARN status.

  2. Platinum is a has limited perks and the people who “earn” it are not suffering at all because a limited number are people get the status without play. If you understood the situation, you would know this is a response to MGM doing the same thing and not a marketing gimmick. Man, you must be a bummer at parties.

  3. Joe R,
If this so called JOB as you call it is so great why does not more able body individuals apply for it? Can it be for the lack of pay or security that after 8hrs, etc or more with time and half pay returning home each day/night or plain fear of the apparent danger that is always in store.
You may have already but if not and time allows, please visit a nearby VA hospital and then re-think your prior statement. If you still feel and think the same I still wish you the best. Good luck with your elite TR status.

  4. Dave:
Still not seeing your point. Why would I visit a VA Hospital? People are injured and sick at hospitals all over the world for many different reasons. There are a lot of dangerous jobs out there. How about farmers, you know how many of them are missing digits? Why don’t we just start kissing their butts and giving them free stuff all over the place. I get it, it’s a fad and it’s a cool marketing gimmick but that’s about all it is. You think Harris really cares about any of them? Of course not. This is just a way for them to glean karma that’s all. Don’t fool yourself into thinking otherwise.
