Ritz-Carlton New York, Battery Park Getting Deflagged

Update: Please note - Ritz-Carlton will not operate or be affiliated with The Ritz-Carlton Battery Park effective 29Mar18. Gift cards will not be accepted and Rewards will not be earned as of 29Mar18.:

The Tribeca Citizen reports, the former Ritz-Carlton Battery Park at 2 West St. is going to be called The Wagner Place Hotel, operated by Highgate Hotels.

In fact, Highgate Hotels is hiring for a Director of Sales & Marketing (Wagner Hotel – NYC) and claims “Highgate Hotels in transitioning the Ritz Carlton Battery Park to Wagner Hotel.”

You’ll recall Highgate Hotels recently took over the Gansevoort Park Aveneue hotel overnight, so it seems like that may be the case here once this transition happens.

Be sure to get your reward bookings in soon if you’re hoping to stay here before the property is deflated and leaves Ritz-Carlton.

  1. Ritz Carlton battery park is crap. 4 different employees messed up in different issues in a single stay. They better take jobs in red roof inn.

  2. Have to agree. Booked 2 rooms thru Amex FHR and the front desk clerk refused to split the dinner bill so I could use both property credits. Would not be surprised if the reason for the split was guest complaints.

  3. Bit unfortunate if you’d paid a few $m for a Ritz Carlton managed ‘residence’ in the same building, I imagine.

  4. You can now see if you go to book a room at the hotel: “Please note – Ritz-Carlton will not operate or be affiliated with The Ritz-Carlton Battery Park effective 29Mar18. Gift cards will not be accepted and Rewards will not be earned as of 29Mar18”

  5. Wagner Hotel are scammers!
They are using Ritz Carlton reviews to make you stay there.Be aware do your search .That hotel is new March 29 ,they don’t have 5 stars amenities!!!!
