Bottom Line

If you’re looking for a great sign-up bonus you’ll definitely want to consider this card. When it comes to earning hotel elite status, the Hilton Honors Ascend Card from American Express comes with Hilton Gold just for having the card. Additionally, if you spend $15,000 on the card annually you’ll then receive a free weekend night.

  1. My Hilton surpass card automatically changed into an Ascend card before I could downgrade. I downgraded to the no fee Hilton card, but it was already showing as the Ascend card in my online account. I never received the physical Ascend card. Do you think I would still be eligible for Ascend bonus if I applied for the card?
