We are all aware of the change coming when the New Marriott Rewards Changes will Start in August.

Today Marriott released their combined reward categories and it looks pretty good to me! There looks to be a sweet spot in the top tier luxury properties which are the ones that I aspire to book with points because they are the most expensive! The next question is where do I want to book first?

WoW! Awesome News From Marriott Today!

It looks like all the SPG “suite” resort hotels in Bora Bora, like the St. Regis will drop the rate to only 60K points in August! Which 60K Marriott points is like 20K SPG points. Of course every 5th award night is still free! This is an incredible value! These over the water bungalow rooms can easily start upwards of $1,200 per night!

Bottom Line

Of course the best thing to do now, is look at the properties that will be increasing and book those before August to lock in the less expensive rate.

In August, your StarPoint balance will be multiplied by 3 and converted to Marriott points.

In February we will see a new award chart. So, from August through January 2019, you have a great chance to book some of these top tier properties at these low points. If you have ever considered a trip to one of these properties, book it then!

We will take more time to comb through this chart and will likely post more sweet spots in the near future!
