Hotel Review: Miami Beach EDITION

The Miami Beach EDITION is located near South Beach on 29th and Collins Ave. The property features 294 guest rooms including 28 oceanfront bungalows. It’s a Marriott Bonvoy category 8 property requiring 85,000 points for a standard free night redemption.

As a Marriott Gold Bonvoy member, thanks to my status from my American Express Platinum Card, I was upgraded from a Standard King to a Oceanview King on the 7th floor. I was also granted complimentary internet access due to my status.

I’m not sure if this amenity was intended for myself as it was in the room when I arrived, even though I booked directly with Marriott, so not sure what preferred travel agency they are referring to.

Bottom Line

The Miami Beach EDITION is a great option if you’re looking for a luxury resort near the heart of South Beach. The hotel has multiple swimming pools, and provides beach chairs and umbrellas to hotel guests as part of the nightly $42 resort fee, which is not waived for elite members.

When it comes to redeeming points, 85,000 points is a lot for this property, however depending on when you go, you may find off peak award availability for 70,000 points per night, though prices here are quite expensive with room rates as much as $800-$1,000 per night for peak season.

On my visit, I was appreciative of the upgrade as a Bonvoy Gold member to the oceanview king guest room.
