Hotel Review: Westin Irving Convention Center at Las Colinas

The Westin Irving Convention Center at Las Colinas is a newer hotel in Irving, Texas, adjacent to the Irving Convention Center. The hotel has 250 guest rooms and suites.

It’s a Marriott Bonvoy Category 4 property requiring 25,000 points for a standard free night redemption. Off peak redemptions are 20,000 points and peak nights are 30,000 points per night.

The hotel is located near the Irving Convention Center Station DART station, which is only four stops to DFW, making it an option if you have an overnight layover.

However, as a Marriott Titanium member, I didn’t receive any sort of upgrade, and was even told that the hotel doesn’t upgrade elite members to suites. The Club Lounge is still closed so the only welcome amenity choice was 1,000 points.

Bottom Line

The Westin Irving Convention Center at Las Colinas offers decent value as a Category 4 property if you’re looking to redeem points in the area. It’s only about 20 minutes on DART to DFW, so served the purpose of a place to stay for the night.

However, as a Marriott Titanium Elite member, there was absolutely zero recognition here, and the hotel even said it’s their policy not to upgrade elite members to suites, despite having multiple suite categories online. Additionally, the Westin Club Lounge is still closed and no alternative is being offered.

The hot tub at the pool was closed due to repairs during my stay, though it looked like it had been drained a while back and doesn’t appear to be getting fixed anytime soon.

Overall, this was a standard Westin, but as an elite member I wouldn’t expect any sort of upgrade or benefits here, which is why I wouldn’t return to this property.
