Southwest Airlines announced its plans to add service to yet another new destination this year. Syracuse Hancock International Airport will be the newest destination for the airline, as well as Southwest’s 6th destination in New York.

Per Southwest,

Southwest Airlines Co,  celebrating the 50th Anniversary of its first flights this month, has extended its bookable flight schedule through Jan. 5, 2022, adding the carrier’s 18th new airport since early 2020. The carrier announced today service to Syracuse Hancock International Airport (SYR) in New York, will begin Nov. 14, 2021. Syracuse will become the 121st airport for Southwest. The carrier also published new flights today that resume service to all previously served international destinations.

Southwest continues to grow across North America with service to its sixth destination in New York: Syracuse, beginning Nov. 14, 2021. Southwest initially will offer up to three daily flights each way between Syracuse and Baltimore/Washington (BWI)

Other schedule highlights include:

• Bellingham, Wash. (BLI) to/from Las Vegas and Oakland starting Nov. 7, 2021
• Ft. Lauderdale to/from Nassau, Bahamas; Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands; and Providenciales, Turks and Caicos resumes Oct. 7, 2021.
• Ft. Lauderdale to/from Cancun, Mexico and Montego Bay, Jamaica resumes Nov. 7, 2021
• Houston (Hobby) to Belize City, Belize resumes Nov. 7, 2021
• New seasonal Chicago (O’Hare) to Cancun starting starting Nov. 7, 2021
• New Sacramento to Palm Springs, Calif starting Oct. 7, 2021
• Sarasota, Florida to/from New York (LGA) and Washington, D.C. (DCA) on Nov. 7, 2021

This news comes after Southwest Airlines Announces Santa Barbara and Fresno, CA,  Southwest Airlines Announces Sarasota, Florida, Southwest Airlines Plans to Serve Chicago (O’Hare) and Houston (Bush Intercontinental), Plans to Serve Miami and Palm Springs in addition to Montrose (Telluride), all of which come in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic and Southwest looking at ways to capitalize on additional revenue in new markets.
