Delta has been expanding its Premium Select cabin to more aircrafts including all 767-400’s and now on some 767-300ERs. You’ll find a mix of 767-400’s and 767-300’s on Delta’s JFK-LAX route.
However, Delta doesn’t sell Premium Select on domestic flights, so despite having a Premium Select cabin onboard, this is currently being sold as Comfort +.
Delta Comfort + is offered to Diamond and Platinum Medallions at time of booking complimentary, and Gold and Silver Medallions can be upgraded a few days prior. However, even though the seatmap reflects Comfort +, you’ll find yourself in a Premium Select seat once onboard.
If the seat map shows Delta Comfort + as a 2x2x2 configuration, you’re going to be in for a nice surprise as this is actually a Premium Select cabin.
Bottom Line
Delta flies international aircraft onboard several domestic routes including from New York (JFK) to Los Angeles (LAX), and currently sells this as Delta Comfort +. Diamond and Platinum Medallions can choose Comfort + seats at time of booking as a status benefit.
Even if you’re not a Medallion member, you can purchase Comfort + at time of booking or after your purchase for a small additional fee, compared to the upgrade prices you’d find to Premium Select on international flights.
For those who haven’t flown in Premium Select, I’d compare it a domestic first class seat. You’ll also receive noise cancelling headphones, and usually service is done from a tray similar to domestic first class, rather than from the cart which you’d find in the Main Cabin.
The next time you have a transcontinental flight between JFK-LAX, you might want to consider Delta and upgrading to Comfort +, so you can take advantage of the Premium Select travel hack for now. I suspect at some point, we’ll see Delta actually sell Premium Select on transcontinental flights but as of now that’s not the case with the 767-400 aircraft.

I flew this class of seat to China in November of 2019. As described, pretty much equivalent to a domestic first class seat on a normal delta flight. Reminded me.a lot of the premium economy flights I had to the UK years back on Virgin Atlantic.
I will be on o e of these domestic flights next month, but in 1st class on a flight from LAS to ATL. Used my reserve companion cert for round trip 1st class from FLL.

Kind of confusing the way the headphones + meal service are framed…they are part of the Premium Select offering, but for JFK-LAX, it’s just the seat
