Bohemian Hotel Savannah Trip Report

In this post I’ll detail a trip report to the Bohemian Hotel Savannah Riverfront.  A few weeks ago we had the opportunity to spend three nights in the Bohemian Hotel Savannah river front while visiting the city for a friends engagement party.  The hotel was about a 20 minute drive from the SAV airport.  This hotel is part of the Kessler Collection and these hotels have contracted with Marriott to manage the properties.  Which is a good thing because if it wasn’t part of the Marriott managed hotels, we might not have tried it on this trip.

Lobby / Check In

After giving our car to the valet, we heeded through the glass doors and into the check in area.  The check in area was very rustic yet modern.  They had a very nice sitting area, hard wood floors, leather seating, and some ghost like decorations in the front desk area.  As a Marriott Platinum member we were upgraded to a suit on the top guest floor with a historic view.

Room

The suite was very large for a hotel with only 75 rooms.  The room had a nice sitting area, cool bedding and an oyster covered chandelier above the bed, and a very large and modern bathroom.

Area

This was only our second time to Savannah and we were pleasantly surprised.  We tried out some fantastic restaurants.  On our first night we went to the Olde Pink House in Historic Savannah.  They have an old southern estate feel to the restaurant and a great menu.  The last night we went to the Alligator Soul restaurant only a few blocks from our hotel. The hotel has a great rooftop bar and restaurant that gets very packed after hours.  The rooftop bar is a great place to take in the river view over a drink.

Bottom Line

We were very happy with the hotel and location.  We used 30,000 Marriott points per night and were upgraded to a suite for the entire stay.  60,000 of those Marriott points came from a friend who traded me the points for 4 One-Way Alaska Airlines First Class upgrade certificates.   So I netted 30,000 and 4 certificates for all of the nights. Overall we found great value in the Bohemian Hotel due to the location and activities around.
