Delta’s 1,000 Unlimited SkyMile Bonus Is Posting

Delta is offering select SkyMiles members a 1,000 mile bonus per segment through the end of the year.

Since I was targeted for the promotion, I’m happy to fly Delta segments through the end of the year, even with all the Delta news lately. I flew to Aruba this past week for a weekend getaway. When I checked the miles that posted for that flight I noticed that the 1,000 bonus SkyMiles per segment are now automatically posting.

I signed up for the 1,000 bonus SkyMiles per segment promotion on August 24, 2012 and noticed the bonus miles started posting around August 28, 2012 for me. If you look at the picture below, you’ll notice that there is an additional 1,000 SkyMiles posting to the bonus miles section.

How To Register For 1,000 Per Segment Promotion

Promotion Details

  • Register before November 30, 2012
  • Fly between August 24, 2012 and December 31, 2012
  • Earn 1,000 miles with every segment you fly with Delta

I’ve been on a roll with earning Delta SkyMiles lately. In addition to the 1,000 per segment bonus, my application for the Delta Reserve Card From American Express and subsequent approval earned me 10,000 Delta MQMs that put me over the 75,000 SkyMiles Platinum Elite threshold.

Bottom Line

We are really happy to fly Delta for the rest of the year because of the 1,000 per segment bonus. Have you noticed your 1,000 bonus SkyMiles posting for each segment?

  1. Seriously a great promo to be eligible for. Sadly I am not. I could see the 40 segement mileage run if this were the case. Congrats

  2. How does one become eligible for this and any other promotions? It seems that some people get these promotions while others have to earn status the good old fashioned way (i.e. pay for their tickets with good old fashioned cash or travel actual miles to earn status). True you can use your Delta Sky Miles Platinum Account but you also have to fly some segments to make it up to Gold or Platinum Status as well. I just wonder why every time I enter my Sky Miles Account number I am told I am not eligible. And I just re-made it to Platinum Status for next year by completing 41 flights (all domestic, a lot in First Class (“A” or “P”) and by using about $ 50,000+ in charges on my Platinum Sky Miles card from AmEx.

  3. Hi James – I was fortunate.

Hi Ken in Phx – Thanks.

Hi Jim – I have no idea.

Hi Andrew V – Make sure you select the communication option under your profile to be sent promotional communications. But even that cannot guarantee you these targeted promotions.
