I stumbled upon the best Sky Club snack a while ago and haven’t been able to kick the habit since. Almost every time I enter a Sky Club I just have to try it. My favorite thing to wash it down on a Thursday evening has always been a complimentary Heineken during a Sky Club and Points, Miles & Martinis Happy Hour.
Delta “Enhances” Sky Club Beer Offering
Unfortunately, all good things come to an end. Effective Wednesday May 15, 2013, Delta will only serve complimentary domestic Budweiser and Miller Lite beers. The premium beers like the Heineken and the Belgian Style Blue Moon will be offered for purchase on the Luxury Bar menu. Granted, I like to place an order for a Luxury Bar drink from time to time, like the Delta Nonstop, but I really enjoyed my complimentary imported beers in the Delta Sky Club. Delta, please bring them back to the complimentary menu.
I personally think this is a bad move. One of the big draws to the Sky Club for me has always been to savor a complimentary happy hour drink before the flight (where I’d then pick up a Woodford Reserve). Without that draw, the Sky Club is just another crowded bar, especially in LaGuardia on a Thursday evening.
My red line in the sand with Delta is the complimentary in-flight premium beverages in First Class like Woodford Reserve. No way can they enhance those off a complimentary menu.
Happy Hour Diet Coke Style
Today I confirmed the complimentary beer changes while visiting a Sky Club. Instead of partaking like I usually do, I went with a diet coke to save the calories.
My Favorite Sky Club Snack
My favorite Sky Club snack has always been Nutella with Biscoff cookies. I usually grab a handful of the delicious cookies and place them into a small plastic cup that is meant to be used for olives. Then I grab a Nutella and I’m in business.
I usually get about 3 cookies per Nutella pack and try to stick to no more than 2 Nutella packs. You got to know when to say when, right?
Bottom Line
Delta has made a short sighted decision that they feel is in the best interest of their bottom line. For me, it will just push me that much closer to the the nearest restaurant if I want a wider selection of premium beers and a real snack before my flight.

This was a TOTALLY LAME move by Delta. Once again, they slip away as my once preferred airline…..
Very upset by this move. It probably won’t cause me to switch airlines, but it will most definitely ensure that I do not renew my Sky Club membership.
You and I have the same taste in snacks. Love Biscoff and Nutella
My favorite snack is the Mesa Rosa nut mix. Unfortunately, I am not seeing that very much lately. Maybe they enhanced that away too.
Nutella is the best!!!
$3 for a Blue Moon isn’t terrible.
Nutella and Biscoff is a good snack. I miss the real cookies the PMNW lounge had.
I’ve been a member of Delta sky club since the sky clubs begin. I am a diamond I’m Delta I always enjoyed the sky clubs. Unfortunately, Delta’s decided to go with garbage wines and if you want a premium wine that you’ll have to pay. The Cabernet and Merlot selection is so bad that it is actually undrinkable. Delta You need to truly take care of your premium customers and offer at least a reasonable wine. Whoever is in charge of choosing your wines, if they work for me would be looking for new employment.
