When Delta had their mistake fares a couple of weeks ago, I was able to book a flight to Hawaii for just over $30 each way. I just flew from Los Angeles to Maui yesterday and that $30 got me a tasty omelet.
Not only did it get me an omelet but it got me 3,729 MQM’s since I also earned a class of service bonus for booking first class.
Delta is starting to serve champagne of their flights to Hawaii as well so I ordered a mimosa, but the flight attendants told me that they are only catered with two bottles of champagne for the entire first class cabin, and are meant mainly for pre-departure beverages.
Delta is refreshing their domestic First Class breakfast meals. These new hot choices will be rotated every couple weeks.
- Bruschetta Omelet with potatoes and chicken sausage links
- Scrambled eggs, chorizo sausage and pepper jack cheese quesadilla with chicken sausage links and salsa
- Garden omelet with parsley potatoes and chicken sausage links
None the less, I wasn’t complaining considering the price of my ticket. I’m now at the Andaz Maui for a few days, so expect a full hotel review to come!

So would they not serve you the mimosa or did they just not have that much more for refills?
@Heather They did serve them, but no refills!
@Tyler It’s a great hotel, but nope not sponsored. Paying about $400 per night to be here.
Congrats! Hope to take care of something like that in the future 🙂
I always miss those ‘fat finger fares’. Do they even still call them that? How is the best way to learn of them and quickly?
My favorite rant — again: How can the airlines deliver such an inferior product to Hawaii? Look at that photo — taken from your “First class” recliner! A breakfast to make McDonalds cringe. How many pre-departure champagnes did it take to make that swill look appetizing?
BTW – congrats on the 3,729 MQMs for $30. I don’t envy the breakfast, but I do envy those cheap points.
