I recently had a chance to visit the Amex Centurion Lounge in Las Vegas. The lounge is one of three lounges currently open with two more on the way.
Las Vegas Amex Centurion Lounge
Where Are The Lounges
• Las Vegas McCarran International Airport (Concourse D, opposite Gate D1)
• Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport (Terminal D, opposite Gate D17 on the upper level)
• New York’s LaGuardia Airport (Terminal B, pre-security, on the third level)
Two more lounges will open up soon, one in San Francisco and the other in Miami.
How Go Get Access
All American Express card holders can gain access to these lounges. However there are two ways to get complimentary access, cardholders of The Platinum Card® from American Express and Centurion members gain access for free. Other American Express cardholders can gain access by paying a $50 fee.
Amex Centurion Lounge Las Vegas
We arrived on a Delta flight from Atlanta around 9 pm and headed straight to the lounge. It’s open from 5 am to 12 am so we could have stayed there for a while. But we just wanted to use it as a meeting place to grab a glass of Champagne, a quick snack and to share a cab over to the hotel.
The lounge is clearly marked and is located hear the gates D1-D16.
The entrance is classic white wall with blue door. The entrance to this lounge, or any other is always a nice sight to see in the airport. But knowing what’s inside the Amex Centurion lounge makes it an Oasis among the Las Vegas airport sounds of slot machines and partiers. If there’s isn’t a Centurion lounge where you travel, an easy way to find out about the lounge in the airport is to head over to Lounge Buddy.
Inside the lounge there is plenty of very comfortable seating for both large and small groups. You can find a quiet nook or grab a seat at a large table to catch up with friends.
We grabbed a seat at the bar and waited for MJ to arrive, it took him a while because he was at the back of the plane. So we ordered a few glasses of champagne and a few snacks. The food is good, much better than the snack mix you’ll find in your favorite US based airline lounge.
Bottom Line
At the end of the day and after a long flight, it’s always nice to see the white wall and blue door of the Amex Centurion Lounge. For our trip to Vegas, this was the perfect meeting place to kickoff a great weekend with friends, and complimentary access to any of the Amex Centurion lounges is one of the many reasons I keep my The Platinum Card® from American Express card.
So you are welcome at the lounge upon *arrival* of a flight? I thought you had to be departing and show a ticket. Or is a ticket not required?
It is now only a departure lounge. And I believe you must be departing within 3 hours or on a layover….
