You will need 2,000 Starpoints for a free weekend night and 3,000 Starpoints for a free night during the week at a Category 1 hotel.

ITC Rajputana is a nice Cat 1 redemption. Right in the heart of the city with access to all the tourist sights. Used to include a breakfast with the points redemption, not any more..

It will sound boring compared to the hotels you list but I redeem at the Four Points hotel near the airport in Kansas City when I have an early morning flight. It’s on out on the fringe of the city on the wrong side for me (and most others in KC) so if I have a really early flight I’ll use a reward night there. Plus they have good parking rates and good shuttle service.
