Update: SkyWest is contradicting other sources and saying the flight landed due to a sick passenger and not a problem with the door.

Today a United flight operated by SkyWest, flight #5622 was on it’s way from Chicago to Hartford Connecticut when it suddenly descended 28,000 feet in about 3 minutes. The reports indicate there was a pressurization problem and even one passenger reportedly passed out.

The pilots likely knew the situation was grave due to the pressurization so descended rapidly. I can only guess the one person who passed out didn’t put on their oxygen mask quick enough or it didn’t work.

Now that everyone is safe and landed. The problem becomes how to get all these people from Buffalo to Hartford since there are no nonstop flights.
