Starwood just announced on Flyertalk what their summer promotion will be this summer and it’s pretty lackluster in my opinion. Gone are the days of earning a free night after two stays with their old Free Weekend Night promotion a few years ago, which had to be my favorite promotion from them ever.
This new promotion lets you earn 1,000 bonus Starpoints on a two-night stay minimum if it includes a weekend night in it, making it quite restrictive and lackluster.

Sneak peek into the summer promotion for SPG!
SPG is making weekends even sweeter. Starting in June, SPG members can register to earn 1,000 bonus Starpoints on stays of two or more nights that include a Friday, Saturday or Sunday night. This offer will be valid at SPG’s collection of more than 1,200 hotels and resorts around the world through August 31st. Â

Bottom Line
Like we said before, The promotion is somewhat lackluster but if you have a SPG stay coming up then you’ll be able to benefit from the extra bonus points. But, I wouldn’t move my stays over to Starwood for this promo.
