This is the last call for the current Amex Sync offer where you can earn $25 back on a $50 purchase or more at Smart and Final. This Offer for You expires June 30th, 2015. The great thing about this offer is that you could register for this via Twitter, so all Amex cardholders were eligible and each card you registered is good for 3 different times for this offer.

Last Chance: How I Made $150 Amex Offer For You

I quickly registered for this offer on Twitter, and then was off to Smart and Final. The great thing is that Smart and Final sells many different merchant gift cards including Amex and Visa and these do count toward this offer.

Here’s what I decided to buy:

  • 4 $50 American Express Gift Cards ($54.95* 4 = $219.80)
  • 2 $25 Amazon Gift Cards ($25*2 = $50)
  • 1 $50 Nordstrom Giftcard ($50)

My total in spending was $319.80 in giftcards, however I received 6 $25 statement credits, bringing my net cost down to $169.80, giving me an overall savings of $150, since I used two cards and maxed them out.

After each swipe, I received an email from American Express confirming that I would be receiving the statement credit.

One word of caution is that you must purchase each giftcard separately, so if you’re looking to max out, you have to buy $50, then pay for it, then have the cashier ring up the next giftcard and pay for it and so on.

Bottom Line

If you live near a Smart and Final, this is a great offer that I would recommend taking advantage of. If you don’t use it you are leaving a lot of cash on the table!
