Cheers! After over 11 years traveling, battling for upgrades, missed-connections and some missed family events; I am finally achieving Delta’s 1 Million Mile Status threshold. As I look back over these years, I definitely earned the majority of my miles flying Delta in coach. But, I also had my fair share of upgrades on Delta as well as plenty of time flying Northwest, Korean, and Air France, among others.

Tomorrow, I will cross the 1,000,000 miles threshold with Delta and thus set my sites on a new goal, the 2 million mile miler threshold.

  1. Wow! Congrats! Now you only have to earn 50,000 to get Platinum – NOT. Hopefully you’ll get 4 mm soon!

  2. Congratulations! It’s a great feeling. The first is the hardest. From here out it is much easier, in your mind, to make two. I should be at 4MM in five months. Welcome to the club.

  3. Congrats on DL MM status. Their offering seems weak compared to United’s MM status (I am almost at 1.5 million miles). I got lifetime Gold, the ability to give someone matching status (we are both 1K) and they paid unfortunately the other benefits went away after the merger.

  4. did 1.7MM on Northwest airlines in a past life … delta forgot all about me a year after the merger

  5. It is a weak program. To get to 4MM you would have top fly 20 years at 200k a year. So giving Gold to someone after 3MM and 15 years of 200k a year is very weak. They would have been a Diamond Medallion the whole time because they flew so many miles per year.
