The Hyatt Centric South Beach Miami is located in the heart of South Beach and is a Hyatt Gold Passport Category 4 property meaning free nights start at 15,000 points per night, or if you’re a Hyatt Visa cardholder, you can redeem your annual free night here.
The Hyatt Centric South Beach is a boutique property with only 105 guest rooms with only two suites, making it one of the smallest Hyatt’s I’ve stayed at before.
As you enter off of 16th street, there is a small sitting area, however the main lobby is located on the 3rd floor.
As a Diamond member, I was upgraded to an Ocean View room with two queen beds.
The rooms were on the smaller size, however featured a desk and sitting area along the window.
The bathroom featured a rain shower
Bathroom
On the 3rd floor, there was an outdoor seating area
Breakfast each morning consisted of a small continental buffet, though there was a full breakfast off their menu, which we did each morning.
On the 3rd floor is the pool deck featuring several lounge chairs and umbrellas.
As well as a negative edge pool for those who want to unwind without leaving the resort.
The property is located across the street from the beach, so in order to get to the beach you must cross the street and head through the Loews hotel to the beach, where hotel guests have access to two beach chairs and towels included in the daily $24 resort fee.
Bottom Line
Overall, I had a nice stay at the Hyatt Centric South Beach, and would definitely recommend it as a great option if traveling to Miami or South Beach and wanting to get a good value as the location is the heart of everything.
For those wondering about parking, the hotel is valet only at $40 per night, however we opted to not rent a car and just took Ubers everywhere which was a good alternative, and more cost-effective.
Lastly, as this is a Category 4 property, you can use your Hyatt Visa credit card anniversary night here, which is a great use of it! Tip: Award stays are exempt from the resort fee!

Yes! It’s an almost perfect Category 4 for the anniversary night. Good find. Oh, yeah, I booked it a couple days ago myself. I’m patting myself on the back, too.
One question — I also thought these nights were exempt from the resort fee, but it’s all over my confirmation:
Type of Rate: PROMOTIONAL AWARD
Rate Information: Free night(s) based upon qualifying award earned and received into member account. Rate is not eligible to earn points or tier credit.
CANCELLATION POLICY:
CXL 72HRS PRIOR TO ARRIVAL TO AVOID 1NT PNLTY

I just returned from a stay at the Hyatt Centric in Key West. My confirmation also showed the taxes, fees and service charges. They were waived at check in. The receptionist mention because This was a award stay. I am a Platinum.
