On a recent trip to Oahu, a visit to the Dole Plantation, Hawaii’s Pineapple Experience was in store. Located in Wahiawa, Hawaii, a 40 minute drive from the Waikiki beaches, you’ll find the Dole Plantation which encompasses the Pineapple Express Train Tour, the Plantation Garden Tour, and the Pineapple Garden Maze.
The Pineapple Plantation is open daily from 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m and is free if you want to stroll around the grounds. However if you are interested in any of the experiences, tickets will be required for each. The highlight is the Pineapple Express Train Tour which is a 20 minute train ride over 2 miles of the property. Tickets are $10.50 and can be bought at the plantation.

Bottom Line
If you are visiting Oahu and looking for a fun excursion for a few hours, I’d recommend heading to the Dole Pineapple Plantation. The easiest way to get here is by car, so consider renting a car for the day. It’s not too far from the North Shore, so you can also drive around there and stop for lunch after.

skipped Dole plantation even when had a rental car this time around. since Dole pineapple soft serve is available in Waikiki now, there seems little need to visit even when we had a rental car.
Total tourist trap. Took the train ride and saw a few plants, but they had no pineapples growing. Isn’t that why we were there and paid for the train ride? Skip it and save your money.
