We’ve used Hilton Honors Gold status to save money and travel better on award trips from the Hilton Seychelles Northolme Resort & Spa to the Hilton Moorea in French Polynesia. On each award trip, our Hilton Gold status offered us complimentary breakfast as an amenity. We consider these award stays among the best award bookings we’ve made. The Hilton Seychelles Northolme upgraded us to an ocean view private villa and provided unlimited complimentary champagne (self serve mimosa bar) with breakfast each morning. The Hilton Moorea provided us an upgrade to a deluxe bungalow (and we paid for an upgrade to the over water bungalow) and gave us complimentary breakfast each morning. In both cases we saved hundreds of dollars during each trip just because of the Hilton Honors Gold status.
We welcome the recent good news that the New Citi® Hilton HHonors™ Reserve Card provides complimentary Hilton Honors Gold Status just by becoming a card member. We thought we’d share some of our favorite aspects of the card including the free
breakfast, I mean Hilton Honors Gold status among other benefits.
Gold Status With New Citi® Hilton HHonors™ Reserve Card
You can now get Hilton Honors Gold status by simply becoming a card member with the new Citi Hilton Honors card.
You can enjoy complimentary Hilton Honors Gold status as long as you are a card member. You will earn an upgrade to Hilton Honors Diamond status and can enjoy even more benefits, when you spend over $40,000 or more in a year. The card does come with a $95 annual fee but the next two features provide more value than the annual fee.
Earn Two Weekend Nights Certificates
Once you spend $2,500 in eligible purchases during the first four months of having the reserve card, you’ll earn two free weekend night certificates. Each of these are good for one weekend night (standard room, double occupancy) at select Hilton Honors Worldwide hotels. The best part here is that there are no category limits to the certificates. You can use them on great hotels like the Hilton Moorea in French Polynesia where regular rooms go for over $330 per night.
Earn An Anniversary Bonus Of One Weekend Night
In addition to the complimentary Hilton Honors Gold status and two free weekend certificates, you’ll earn another free certificate good for one weekend night (standard room, double occupancy), each year when you spend $10,000 or more on eligible purchases.
No Foreign Transaction Fees
Unlike the Starwood Preferred Guest from American Express, the New Citi Hilton Honors Reserve Card does not come with foreign transaction fees. I like that this card doesn’t nickel and dime me when I use my card oversees.
Citi Chip Credit Card
Enjoy the added protection of the Citi Chip card technology.
Hilton Honors Gold Status Benefits
I mentioned the complimentary free breakfast with Hilton Gold status, but there are many more benefits for being a Hilton Honor Gold member. Take a look at the additional benefits below which can all save you money or increase the stay experience.
