Back in January, I shared my experience applying for a 100,000 point offer for the personal Platinum American Express card. Not long after being approved for this offer did American Express send additional 100,000 targeted offers to me for the Business Platinum American Express card.
100,000 American Express Membership Rewards
When I saw the details of the personal offer I jumped. I applied within minutes and was approved within seconds. After I received the card, I tested out purchasing American Airlines gift cards and was successful at getting the $200 statement credited back to my account.
Now, less than a month later, the full 100,000 Membership Rewards points have posted in full.
The offer was only up for a few days before it was pulled but it was a great offer.
Bottom Line
When these large credit card bonus offers come, and you are considering applying for the cards, don’t wait around thinking the offer will be up for days. I acted fast, and now have another 100,000 points American Express Membership Rewards points to spend. Consider signing up for Points, Miles & Martinis to be delivered via email, this way you won’t miss another offer like this again.
Did anyone else receive their points from this offer yet?

They almost denied my 100K points based on the 90 day rule. I wrote about it here: http://www.willrunformiles.com/2013/02/platinum-american-express-almost-lost.html
I have zero points until now. The points from January (around 1900) are still ‘pending’ in MR webpage. I hit 3K spend this weekend, so I will probably see those ‘pending’ in the next few days or after this statement closes.
But, I am really curious as to why my points from January statement still did not post? Is this the norm with AMEX?
PS: This is my first MR card.
Mine posted already as well!
Would love to see another 100k for 3k spend offer. Missed the last one.
After hitting the spend (all transactions posted), about when did you see the points post?
would the $450 annual fee considered part of the minimum spend?
You can’t get a welcome bonus offer for cards that are in the same genre, either personal or business, if you have or have had a card in the last 12 months. This doesn’t apply to cobranded cards such as Delta or Hiltons though. Bottom line you can get a welcome bonus offer for a business and one welcome bonus for a personal card as long as you don’t have currently or haven’t had for 12 months. And no the membership fee doesn’t count towards the spend
