Each week, we will be taking a look at a hotel or airline elite status level and the benefits that come with it and how to leverage earning the status.
So far we have looked at Hilton Gold, Hilton Diamond, Starwood Gold, Starwood Platinum, Hyatt Platinum and Hyatt Diamond.
Overview of Marriott Silver Status
So for this week, we are going to look at Marriott Silver, which normally requires 10 nights with Marriott.
How to Earn:
(1) 10 nights in a calendar year
Benefits of Marriott Silver Status
- Elite Reservation line
- Ultimate Reservation Guarantee
- Priority late checkout
- 10% gift shop discount
- Elite-only rewards
- 20% bonus on points for stays
- Silver customized rewards
- Free Internet Access at participating brands in Asia Pacific
Other Ways To Earn:
The Marriott Rewards Premier Credit Card gives 15 elite qualifying nights each year, meaning that this card would give you Marriott Silver status each year just for having the card after the first year.
Bottom Line
Marriott Silver doesn’t provide a ton of benefits, but then again it only requires 10 nights a year to qualify for it. The 20% points bonus and priority late check-out is nice, but that’s about it.
