As we posted here early in the day on Small Business Saturday (SBS), Mrs. Weekly Flyer and I scored $240 in Amex credits from shopping small on Saturday! But, what happened later in the evening was really interesting! As we posted here in September, one good strategy was for us to access if we needed or could apply for more credit cards so that we could maximize credits on SBS. Well, we decided to add an additional user to our Delta Reserve Credit Card from American Express account for free BUT, the new card never came in the mail….until Saturday evening after we had already shopped small!!
Our Small Business Saturday Dilemma
So, we receive Mrs. Weekly Flyer’s new Delta Reserve Credit Card from American Express card Saturday evening at like 6:30pm and at first say,” Oh well, we already scored $240 in credits; too bad we didn’t receive the card earlier.” But, not 10 minutes later, we realized that the registration was still open….and that it was not even 7pm, even though it was dark out. And we couldn’t resist heading back out to score 3 more credits!
Bottom Line
Call us a little obsessed or crazy but, the new “free” user card ended up scoring us another $30 in credits on Small Business Saturday for a grand total of $270! From all your great comments, it sounds like you all cleaned up too! What an awesome way to start off holiday shopping! We love it!
Hi, did you use different cards at the same merchant?
I got all the confirmation emails from the transactions but when I used DIFFERENT cards at the SAME merchant I only got the $10 credit on my statement once
We used the same card and different cards at the same merchant and look to have received all the credits. Hopefully, there is just a lag in your statement credits. If they don’t show up soon; I would call Amex.
For example, at one liquor store, we checked out 5 times with the same card (3x) and another one (2x.)
