As part of Delta’s new 2015 SkyMiles program which is switching to a revenue based program, one of the best new features is one-way awards. You’ll now be able to book one-way awards and they start at 1/2 price of a round-trip award, which makes it great if you want to mix and match to redeem on different airlines, or pay cash for one way and redeem for the return.
Delta Launches One-Way Awards for 2015
Here are some examples of the new one-way awards:
Los Angeles- New York (JFK) for 12,500 miles one-way in Coach
New York (JFK)- Los Angeles for 32,500 miles one-way in BusinessElite
New York (JFK)- London for 30,000 miles one-way in Coach
Honolulu-Maui for 7,500 miles one-way in Coach on Hawaiian Airlines
New York (JFK)-London for 30,000 miles one-way in Coach on Virgin Atlantic
Bottom Line
I think one-way awards are the best thing to come out of the 2015 SkyMiles program. They are long overdue and I can’t wait to start booking some one-way Delta awards.
I booked my award flight on KE. LAX-ICN at 11:45 on Dec 31.
WMVP – Nice work. I haven’t booked my first one-way yet, but I have a few in mind 🙂 Will report back with observations, but seems pretty straight forward to book.
Does the one ways include virgin atlantic bookings now too??
