Bottom Line
Check out this promotion from Fairmont and American Airlines where you can earn double AAdvantage miles with your Fairmont F-scapes package booking. I look a look at the prices for a couple of these packages and thought that the rates looked really good for what you got.
If you go to AA Advantage Shopping, and click on travel, you can see many hotel chains giving 2-4 miles per dollar for hotel stays, and the only requirement is that you “link” from the portal. Works well; for example if I’m getting 250 UAL miles for a Choice hotel stay (my current preference), I also get 2x$1 in miles for AA.
