There are a few beaches where you feel you can reach out and touch a Jet. Getting a glimpse from the perspective of the belly of the plane is rare and exciting. Maho beach at the Princess Juliana International Airport on St Maarten is one of these places.
The photograph series “Jet Airliner” by Joseph Hoflehner has great black and white photographs of air planes landing and taking off from St Maarten. Check out some of his amazing photographs below.
The photographs are truly amazing. There are many more photographs in the “Jet Airliner” series over at Joseph Hoflehner’s website.

wow!!..these are awesome…that’s one of my dream destinations….SXM. I could care less about the beach, but it’s the plane-spotting experience there that’s unbeatable!
The bar that is at the beach even has a chalkboard showing what the flight schedule is for that day.
I was there at the bar when an MD-80 turned onto the runway and went full power on the engines while holding the brakes, some watchers almost got blown into the water. There are some great videos of that beach/runway on Youtube. Some are very funny.
I dont think that KLM flight exists anymore….the only thing Im seeing is KLM 1223, 1227, 1229, but all connect out of CDG into SXM. That sucks, cuz that’s a Jumbo and I’d love to see that go over me. Great picture that first one!
