It’s been a fast couple of weeks for us here at Points, Miles & Martinis. We’ve found there is nothing better to slow us down than a full breakfast. We can even look around and enjoy the moment a little more when the breakfast is compliments of Hyatt Diamond status.

So when the Breakfast challenger presented itself, we accepted the challenge and settled in for another great Hyatt Diamond breakfast. It is tough to beat the Hyatt Diamond breakfast at the Park Hyatt in Buenos Aires, but the Lemon Poppy Seed pancake is the cake of gods. But this time we found a contender who may just have unseated the well known champion of the Hyatt Diamond Breakfast world.

But we don’t want to make the call of who is the winner, that will be left up to you, and we’ve sweetened the pot to get your thoughts.

Win A Chance At A $25 Hyatt 48 Lex Gift Card

  • Winner will be selected at random on Friday, May 25, at 12 noon

Champion – The Andaz 5th Avenue Lemon Poppy Seed Pancake

The champion is well known in the Hyatt Diamond corner of the world. The champion comes from the Andaz 5th avenue. The Lemon Poppy Seed Pancake brings a sweet and citrus flavor right to your palate. One bite won’t do this champion any justice, you’ll soon find yourself in a challenge of your own to finish this giant cake from a pan.

  1. While the pancake looks incredible, Im going to have to go with a fresh, hot donut!

  2. I’ll be at the Andaz 5th in a couple weeks and looking forward to trying the pancakes!

Just to be clear as a Diamond I’ll get $75 per day for breakfast (no lunch or dinner). Do I need to leave a tip or is that automatically included? Should $75 be enough for two people?

    Thanks!

  3. Have to go with the lemon poppyseed pancakes. I had some at a restaurant in Austin, and loved them.

But, the best pancakes I have ever had belong to a place called Mickie’s Dairy Bar in Madison, Wis. If you go, bring cash as they don’t let you earn points because they don’t take credit cards. But, it’s worth forgoing the points for the pancakes.

  4. I like an underdog…I’ll support the challenger (Hyatt 48 Lex Homemade Jelly Filled Donut Holes)!

  5. I think the winner should be the Hyatt Diamond breakfast at the Grand Hyatt New York city

  6. I’d go for the doughnuts. Not a big fan of lemons or poppy seeds in baked treats.

But I would argue that a better option than either is the cinnamon roll French toast at the Centennial Cafe at the HR Dallas.

  7. Hi Andrew – Happy to share the gift card with Points, Miles & Martinis readers. It’s great to see people love both pancakes and donuts 😀

Although I do have a preference myself. I couldn’t come close to finishing the pancake. But when the fifth donut was gone, I found myself looking back into the basket for more. They ARE amazing morsels of goodness.

  8. Jelly filled doughnuts conjure up special treats from my childhood, but I’ve never tasted one that is equal to the memories. These look VERY promising!

  9. Pretty sure that pancake was custom made to fit in my stomach. MMMMMMM pancakes
