It’s been a fast couple of weeks for us here at Points, Miles & Martinis. We’ve found there is nothing better to slow us down than a full breakfast. We can even look around and enjoy the moment a little more when the breakfast is compliments of Hyatt Diamond status.
So when the Breakfast challenger presented itself, we accepted the challenge and settled in for another great Hyatt Diamond breakfast. It is tough to beat the Hyatt Diamond breakfast at the Park Hyatt in Buenos Aires, but the Lemon Poppy Seed pancake is the cake of gods. But this time we found a contender who may just have unseated the well known champion of the Hyatt Diamond Breakfast world.
But we don’t want to make the call of who is the winner, that will be left up to you, and we’ve sweetened the pot to get your thoughts.
Win A Chance At A $25 Hyatt 48 Lex Gift Card
Leave a comment in this post telling us which Hyatt Diamond breakfast you’d prefer and we’ll select one lucky winner to receive a $25 gift card good for use at the Hyatt 48 Lex in NYC.
- Limit one entry per contestant
- Winner will be selected at random on Friday, May 25, at 12 noon
Champion – The Andaz 5th Avenue Lemon Poppy Seed Pancake
The champion is well known in the Hyatt Diamond corner of the world. The champion comes from the Andaz 5th avenue. The Lemon Poppy Seed Pancake brings a sweet and citrus flavor right to your palate. One bite won’t do this champion any justice, you’ll soon find yourself in a challenge of your own to finish this giant cake from a pan.
It is also worth noting that the Andaz 5th avenue allows Hyatt Diamond members to order off the menu and comps the breakfast up to a $75 limit.
Challenger – Hyatt 48 Lex Homemade Jelly Filled Donut Holes
The challenger today comes from the Hyatt 48 Lex New York Brass restaurant. It brings 5 jelly donuts directly to the table for your nibbling pleasure. The sugar coated, crunchy on the outside, gewy on the inside donut holes are sure to be a delight to any breakfast patron.
Along with the jelly filled donuts, the Hyatt 48 Lex offers it’s Diamond members a $25 gift card to use for breakfast, lunch or dinner at their Brass restaurant.
Bottom Line
We applaud Hyatt for offering a great breakfast amenity to their Diamond members. It is one of the many reasons we continue to come back to Hyatt for business and personal stays.
So which do you prefer, a pancake or donut hole?

While the pancake looks incredible, Im going to have to go with a fresh, hot donut!
I’m all about the doughnut baby!
WOW,everything looks great! I ‘ll have to go with Breakfast of champions… because… well I’m a champ! 😉
I’ll be at the Andaz 5th in a couple weeks and looking forward to trying the pancakes!
Just to be clear as a Diamond I’ll get $75 per day for breakfast (no lunch or dinner). Do I need to leave a tip or is that automatically included? Should $75 be enough for two people?
Thanks!
Have to go with the lemon poppyseed pancakes. I had some at a restaurant in Austin, and loved them.
But, the best pancakes I have ever had belong to a place called Mickie’s Dairy Bar in Madison, Wis. If you go, bring cash as they don’t let you earn points because they don’t take credit cards. But, it’s worth forgoing the points for the pancakes.
Pancake!
pancakes
Can’t beat the pancakes!
Pancake, but I’ve never been fortunate enough to try one.
I like an underdog…I’ll support the challenger (Hyatt 48 Lex Homemade Jelly Filled Donut Holes)!
Hyatt 48 Lex Homemade Jelly Filled Donut Holes
I think the winner should be the Hyatt Diamond breakfast at the Grand Hyatt New York city
The Hyatt 48 Lex lemon poppy seed pancakes
Love pancakes!
Love the pancakes!!
Pancakes look fantastic!
I want those pancakes!!
Pancakes please
Pancakes!
Bring on those delicious-looking pancakes!
I’d go for the doughnuts. Not a big fan of lemons or poppy seeds in baked treats.
But I would argue that a better option than either is the cinnamon roll French toast at the Centennial Cafe at the HR Dallas.
I think I’d still go with the lemon poppy pancakes.
Pancakes please!
I think many folks know where I stand on this issue.
Pancakes, pancakes, and more pancakes….. please!
Donut holes for sure!
Donut holes.
pancakes please!
Tough choice, but I have to go with the donuts!
Definitely pancakes. Thanks for the giveaway!
Pancakes, please!
Breakfast Of Champions
Hi Andrew – Happy to share the gift card with Points, Miles & Martinis readers. It’s great to see people love both pancakes and donuts 😀
Although I do have a preference myself. I couldn’t come close to finishing the pancake. But when the fifth donut was gone, I found myself looking back into the basket for more. They ARE amazing morsels of goodness.
I have to go with the Donut holes.
The Andaz 5th Avenue Lemon Poppy Seed Pancake is the way to go.
Jelly filled doughnuts conjure up special treats from my childhood, but I’ve never tasted one that is equal to the memories. These look VERY promising!
Chef Vince at 5th Ave Andaz made best poppy seeds pancakes.
