Every summer, the Points, Miles and Martinis writers, stakeholders and members of the Board of Directors from around the world drop what they are doing and meet face to face in an undisclosed location to discuss the blog’s performance and goals. Because secrecy is of the utmost importance for this exclusive event, all participants are ambushed, blindfolded and taken to the undisclosed location to ensure the media does not gain access.
The ambush
The Weekly Flyer was swimming at the Marina Bay Sands pool when he was taken away from his recent trip to Singapore.
They managed to ambush me while I was staring down a Moose in Rocky Mountain National Park.
PMM’s performance
Though I can’t reveal too much about the event, I will share that July was the best month in the history of PMM! Our readership continues to grow significantly month over month in 2012. A big thank you goes out to our readers for your continued support!
What to expect next
As far as what to expect from PMM, we intend to increase our commitment to three segments.
- Giveaways – PMM will be increasing the frequency and quality of our giveaways. This one is self-explanatory. Who doesn’t love free stuff?!
- Booking Secrets – The ‘Booking Secrets’ segments were a hit with readers this summer so we will be expanding this segment to include more airlines, more frequent flyer programs, and more exclusive booking secrets.
- Trip Reports – The readers have spoken and Trip Reports will become a larger percentage of PMM posts. Trip Reports currently under construction include Peru, Easter Island, Chile, Norway, Germany, and Singapore. Coming soon are reports from Australia, Bermuda, The Maldives, Aruba, and double Hawaii.
The meeting concluded with the team defining a message to our readers. Thank you for your continued support as we evolve the Points, Miles and Martinis blog.
Wait, how many people comprise PMM?
Of course I am looking forward to everything, but a Germany trip report sounds great to me. I’ll definitely stay tuned.
How do you get on the board 🙂
I hope the undisclosed location wasn’t here in Texas, it’s too hot.
Congratulations on a great July!
Looking forward to the trip reports! Thanks for all the great info.
Hi David – Just two.
Hi New Girl in the Air – Will leave that one to Alex.
Hi Joel – Rigorous screening process, but I still don’t know how Alex slipped through :). JK, Alex certainly brings a great travel style. He is more quantity over quality, er did I say that. He definitely travels with great hotels and airlines just in coach class, usually anyway.
Hi AAdvantagegeek – I have a feeling you’ll like a trip we are AAnouncing tomorrow.
Hi WarmNuts – Appreciate the feedback, as always.
