Update: Jump Is A Go – Skydiving From Edge Of Space

Update: mission control has decided to proceed with the jump. The capsule is approximately 126,000 feet in the air and they are starting checks to begin the jump.

Amazing! Felix Baumgartner and the Red Bull Stratos have started their climb to the edge of space. From there, Felix will jump out of the capsule (carried by balloon) that took him there, attempting to break the sound barrier as he falls back to Earth.

You can see the live stream of Felix’s jump below.

While we are waiting for him to reach altitude, you can see the previous record for the highest skydive.
