Earn 4 Points With W Hotel Purchase Purchase
If you use your American Express Starwood Preferred Guest card and use your Starwood number (both the personal and business card are offering 25k sign up bonus) you will earn 2 Starpoints per dollar spent from American Express AND 2 Starpoints for being a Starwood Preferred guest member.
I called American Express and confirmed that a purchase will earn 4 points per dollar. Also, I asked that since my Starwood number is attached to my card if that would count as “entering†my member number. They confirmed that if you have the card and a SPG member number associated with the card, you’ll earn 4 points per dollar spent at the W Hotel store.

Id like to point out that folks have reported that this purchase qualifies for double points on your SPG AMEX card.
Have had the W bed for 4 years. WHat a waste of money, need a new one cause that one is giving in.

After a little digging on Flyertalk, turns out this bed is a Simmons Beautyrest Classic. If anyone is thinking of getting this, and is in the LA area, reach out to me, you can get it for $425 all inclusive.
I made a purchase this way, and was just told by a SPG rep that I would not earn the additional points from Starwood (3 in my case, since I’m a Gold SPG member), because the purchase was not associated with a stay. Did anyone have any luck double dipping like this?
