I remember the days of getting 50,000+ airline miles with bank debit cards. That has all changed since the new banking legislations came out. The airlines are no longer offering very generous signup bonus offers. But signup bonus offers still exist.
Earn 5,000 Delta SkyMiles With Debit Card
For example, take the Delta and Suntrust offer. They have teamed up to offer 5,000 bonus SkyMiles for a new Delta SkyMiles World Debit Card. The offer page here is offering 5,000 bonus miles after first use of the card. The earning style of the card depends on whether you go for the personal card or the business card.
The personal card offers 1 mile for every $1 spent on on signature-based and PIN Point-of-Sale purchases and 2 miles per every 1$ spent on direct Delta purchases. This card comes with a $75 annual fee.
The business card on the other hand offers 1 mile for every $2 spent on on signature-based and PIN Point-of-Sale purchases and 1 miles per every 1$ spent on direct Delta purchases. This card comes with a $125 annual fee.
Bottom Line
If you are looking for a check card signup bonus, they still exist, but they aren’t as great as they used to be.
Beware – SunTrust has been closing some (but not all) accounts immediately upon opening if you are not in their retail service area.
Not available in many states. FYI
…and buy too many money orders from Walmart and they will shut your a** down with no appeal.
