50 Hilton Points A Day Still Going Strong

Late last year I shared an approach to earn 50 Hilton Honors points each day. This approach uses the loyalty program Top Guest to check in at Hilton DoubleTree locations in order to earn points for each check-in. There have been reports of points not posting, so I checked back in with my Hilton account to see the progress of my points posting.

I logged into my Hilton account to verify the points transactions are posting. The results show the offer is still going strong.

How To Signup for Top Guest

The first step in the setup process is to (1) signup for a Topguest account.

Next, add your loyalty program numbers to Topguest program. Just select the “add member ID” button and add your loyalty program member ID.

Link Your Account With Foursquare

Next, you’ll want to (2) signup for a foursquare account and link your Topguest account. You can do this easily by logging in with Facebook. Foursquare is an application that you can use on your smart phone to “check in” at your location. This shares your location with foursquare and your Topguest linked program will award you points. For Hilton, you much check in at a DoubleTree hotel in order to earn the 50 points.

Visit And Check In At Double Tree Hotel Locations

The next step is to (3) use foursquare to check in at a DoubleTree location. Simply open up the app, search for the DoubleTree location you are visiting, and “check in” to earn your points.

Bottom Line

There have been reports of people’s points not posting. But in my experience, the points are posting like a charm.

Have you had any problems getting your Hilton points to post through the TopGuest program? If not, do you have any best practices to share which help increase the chance of your points posting?

  1. Mine were posting fine until celeste(r) the moleste(r) sent me a lovely email indicating my account was shut down for checkin activity remarkably similar to that posted above. Can you create a duplicate account and have another go?

  2. I had a similar experience to De. Probably checked in 3x week on Foursquare to a Doubletree that’s next to my work. While the points did post, I did get an email stating I was going to have the points pulled if I kept it up.

TopGuest does work if you are in Vegas for MGM properties, but you are also limited to 1 property checkin per night, regardless of the number of MGM properties you go to.

  3. Same as early posters. I follow this similar path and my acct was shutdown. Glad to hear that someone’s is still going strong. Ssadly I pass right by the front door of a doubletree everyday.

  4. I was also a recipient of Celeste’s nastygram telling me that I was being booted from the program for violating the (unwritten) terms of the program. Apparently, checking in five days a week at the Hotel Indigo a couple of blocks from where I work is a no-no.
