My favorite business travel bag is the 21 inch one-touch carry-on by Briggs & Riley. It is small enough to fit in tight spaces, but It is also expandable to carry extra items during long periods of travel. So when Briggs & Riley asked if I wanted to give away one free carry-on to Points, Miles & Martinis readers, of course I said yes. We get to share a personal story about our Briggs & Riley carry-on and give one lucky reader a carry-on of their choice from any Briggs & Riley collection.

My Personal Experience With Briggs & Riley Warranty

One of the reasons I love my Briggs & Riley is because they stand by their warranty. After three long years, my 21 inch one-touch carry-on finally gave in a little bit. One side of the handle wore down and would no longer lock in place. Considering the bag had it’s ups and downs going through an average of 50 weeks of travel per year over 3 years and included an average of 2 security checkpoints per week, 2 flights a week, 4 car drives a week and at least 2 shuttle rides per week. Needless to say it was well tested.

When the bag handle would no longer lock on one side, I simply looked up the nearest Briggs and Riley repair center, took the bag in, and explained I’d like it repaired from the lifetime warranty.

  1. 3. Covers damage for any reason. My current carryon is so beat up from being checked planeside on all the tiny regional jets.

  2. In 1994 I purchased a B&R carry-on. In 1999 my local dealer chose to replace it rather than repair, and it’s been going strong since. 1.3 million miles on 2 bags.

  3. All of the above. I’ve been using only Briggs & Rieley fir travel for almost 10 years and it is the best. I’ve never been hassled when any have needed repairs and they always come back good as new.

  4. Love my two Briggs & Riley bags, and I was a lifelong Hartmann fan – any reason whatsoever is most important, as I never intend to let anyone else have either!

  5. I think the unconditional lifetime warranty is the undisputed champion if “warranties.” I don’t care I the warranty is transferrable or not (there doesn’t seem to be a large market for used luggage).

  6. #3 – Covers damage for any reason would be the most important for me, but all of the above is a close second!

  7. hi. My answer is all of the above. Also, in addition to having a great warranty, I want one that’s real not phantom. by this I mean – user friendly. that they have customer service who tells me where to bring the luggage, or make it easy and free to ship it. I’ve had lots of items with wonderful warranties that are useless because of all the hoops one has to jump through to use them.
