Just a quick reminder that today is last day to take advantage of the American Express to British Airways transfer bonus. American Express is offering a 20% transfer bonus when transferring American Express Membership Rewards to British Airways Avios.
British Airways awards are distance based, and you can check to see how many Avios your flights would require with the British Airways Avios calculator. This bonus is hard-coded so there is no need to register.
British Airways Avios can be used to book awards on American Airlines and some of their best redemptions are coach awards to Hawaii for 25,000 Avios round-trip in coach as well as short flights under 500 miles for 9,000 Avios round-trip.
With this transfer bonus, it would bring a 25,000 Avios redemption to only 20,833 Amex points round-trip.
For a flight under 500 miles such as New York to Toronto, instead of 9,000 Avios, it would only be 7,500 Amex points round-trip.
- Get 20% more Avios when you transfer Membership Rewards points to your British Airways Executive Club account by December 31, 2013. As a British Airways Executive Club member, you can use Avios toward Reward flights for travel to more than 800 destinations worldwide through partner airlines of the oneworld alliance. Terms apply.
