One of my favorite perks with the Chase Sapphire Preferred Card is First Fridays where you can earn triple points on all dining.
This was supppose to only be good through the end of 2013, but according to Chase’s site it has been extended for 2014. There is no need to register for this offer.
Every First Friday of the month Chase Sapphire cardholders earn 3 Points per $1 on dining at the restaurant of your choice during the First Friday of the each month. But you still get 2X Points on dining every day. All you have to do is use any Chase Sapphire card.
You can view many restaurant recommendations on their Facebook site, but note any restaurant will count even if it’s not listed on here.
A great way to maximize this is to buy gift cards to your favorite restaurants today, so you’ll earn triple points no matter when you go back and eat there.
Another way to maximize on dining purchases is to use your Chase Ink Plus card to buy gift cards for restaurants at office supply stores, since you can earn 5x points on your purchases there, so this is something else to consider.
Many restaurants are offering gift card specials this month for the holidays, so be sure to ask the restaurant if they have any special offers such as receiving a $20 gift card when you purchase a $100 gift card.
Bottom Line
If you’re dining out today be sure to use your Sapphire Preferred card. I’m really glad that First Fridays will continue through 2014.

I’ve found this promotion to be exceedingly frustrating. It doesn’t seem to matter when I wrap up a dine at various restaurants (unless it’s lunch!) the transaction always seems to be dated the following day. I made the effort again last night, wrapping up my ticket at 10:13PM, and there’s the temporary authorization sitting in my Chase account with a 1/4 date. I’ll wait to see what happens once the transaction is finalized, but I thought that dining at a place that closed at 11pm might help keep them from doing a final credit card wrap up after midnight.
The only time I was able to get a ticket to close prior to midnight was the time I tried to game the system and dine on Thursday night… Nope, THAT one they got closed out on the right day.
