For US Airways and American Airlines fliers who fly out of LAX, there are some changes in which terminals they will be operating from.
US Airways is leaving Terminal 1 and is now operating out of Terminal 3. Terminal 1 will now be home to just Southwest Airlines.
Details of the current operation include:
All US Airways ticketing and check-in, gates, baggage services and customer service will begin operations in Terminal 3 with the airline’s first flights from LAX the morning of Feb. 12. The US Airways ticket counter will be located on the east end of Terminal 3 and the baggage service office will be located on the east side of the arrival level. US Airways Club members can utilize the American Airlines Admirals Club located in Terminal 4.
American Airlines will continue to operate from Terminal 4 at LAX. Customers traveling on American and US Airways should continue to check in for flights and conduct business with the airline operating their flight.
American and US Airways customers can now access both the American and US Airways terminals via a new shuttle service that runs every 20 minutes, with stops at Terminal 3, Gate 39 and Terminal 4, Gate 44.that runs every 20 minutes, with stops at Terminal 3, Gate 39 and Terminal 4, Gate 44.
Bottom Line
If you’re flying American or US Airways out of LAX, be sure to check-in at the correct terminal and look out for the new shuttle service between Terminal 3 and Terminal 4.

Every 20 minutes…. I see that being revised quite quickly.
The split terminal setup is annoying.
I looked at the airlines in T3 hoping there would be a lounge alas there is not. But now LCC gets to be in the same terminal with a bunch of LCC’s! It’s like a happy reunion!
