Given the update on cash only move yesterday, and a potential last call, I can venture to guess what some of you may be doing today. As a result of the update shared yesterday (which is unverified in Atlanta at this point), I went by my local store and paid tribute to an old friend.
Looking around I found plenty of vanilla’s in their normal locations. Then when I spoke with the front clerk, I inquired about any upcoming changes that he might be aware of. To my surprise, the only thing he mentioned was something around the need to scan IDs. Nothing was stated to be out of the ordinary, especially for tomorrow.
But just in case, I picked up a few for a rainy day.
Have you paid a visit to your local store since the update was shared yesterday? What did you learn?
It will be interesting to see how this plays out in the coming days.

Northern CA has seen the memo and they will implement tomorrow.
Yes I went to CVS in Chicago. I asked the cashier and he confirmed his manager mentioned it to him.
South Florida – went today – learned the same as always in my closest store…they have no clue about anything. Handed the cashier 10 VR and asked to put $500 on each. She asked if I was paying cash and I said no. She said you have to pay cash. I said, “since when”. She turned over the VR card where it tells you how to use it and #1 says Load Cash. I explained that does not mean you have to use cash to load it. She asked if I had ID and I handed her my drivers license. She called for a manager and started scanning in the cards….the manager came over and she showed him the amount and said she verified my id and the manager said I think there is a $1000 limit per day. I said it’s a $5000 limit per day and he said ok. I left with my 10 cards. Will see what happens tomorrow.
