I just received an email from a reader who forwarded me on an offer from Delta offering complimentary Silver Medallion status as well as a fast track to earn Gold or Platinum Medallion status.
This status is only good for 2 months and then their is an offer to get Gold by flying 2 round-trip flights or Platinum Status by flight just 3 round-trip flights.
As a reminder, Gold normally requires 50,000 miles or 60 flights and Platinum normally requires 75,000 or 100 flights to earn so if you are targeted this is a great way to go for Golf or Platinum status
Here’s how you can earn each status:

Eligible flights must be round-trip. Eligible itineraries may not include segments flown by other airlines. Eligible flights must be marketed and operated by Delta or Delta Connection® only. Only those round-trip flights purchased with a published fare that earns full mileage accrual are eligible. Gold or Platinum Medallion status will start one day after completion of qualifying travel and ends on February 28, 2015. Medallion status must be earned in subsequent years by traveling the required Medallion Qualification Miles (MQMs) or Medallion Qualification Segments (MQSs) and spending the required Medallion Qualification Dollars (MQDs). Medallion benefits may be enjoyed when traveling on Delta or Delta Connection flights by providing your SkyMiles number when making reservations or at check-in. MQMs are calculated based on distance traveled and fare class purchased on qualifying flights and do not include bonus miles.Â
Validity Period:Â To participate in this offer, you must register by July 15, 2014. Enrollment ends 11:59:59 PM, U.S. CST, on July 15, 2014.
Bottom Line
I think it’s quite obvious that Delta is getting worried that so many Medallion members are leaving since they announced they were switching to a revenue based loyalty program as well as slashing upgrades on flights from JFK-LAX/SFO/SEA so they figured they would try and give away their lowest status in hopes to get some new members.

You are not eligible to participate in this promotion.
Why are Delta continuing to make retaining status harder, but they are willing to give it away to straingers for the cost of 0, 2, or 3 flights, even cheap ones?
This is so easy that I don’t even understand how it was approved internally. What a joke.
The reason I changed to AA. Delta giving this away is a joke.
