Delta has just announced a new feature for their First Class flyers, free access to Delta Studio. Delta Studio is Delta’s version of all things in-flight entertainment which includes movies, satellite TV, HBO, Showtime games and songs.
The free access to the in-flight movies isn’t new, that has been around for a while. But what is new is that you can now stream the content from Delta Studio to your personal device like an iPad or other approved device. The videos will cost you $6 in coach, but are complimentary in First Class.
How To Stream With Delta Studio
- Connect to the “GOGOINFLIGHT” network
- Launch your Internet browser
- Visit video.gogoinflight.com or click on the Delta Studio banner from the Delta Connect homepage
- Once you have selected your video, you can stream it the following ways by device
It will be interesting to see how they validate who is in First Class and who is not. Perhaps they’ll do that through a confirmation #, but that may not always work if you get upgraded after the doors close. Anyway, a good idea in my opinion. What would be great is if they started offering free wifi for First Class passengers on domestic flights or Business Elite on international flights, but that would likely take away the majority of the paying customers.
This is great for those traveling with kids who want to stream a movie to their iPad for a little one to watch. You can always check out the latest video schedule playing in-flight on Delta’s site here.
