To receive calls on your free magicJack number, make sure you enable notifications for magicJack in your settings.
This will allow your friends to call your magicJack number.
Next, make sure magicJack has access to your contacts. This way, you’ll be able to tab your friends name and make calls just like you were using your mobile phone service provider.
Lastly, I’ve found that the hotel lobby or nearby has the best wifi to use with this, but I’ve also used it in my room. The key is to find a strong signal and then stay put for your phone call.

Is there an app or a plan to use my US phone to call an international number free while I am in Europe I have to call apartment contacts upon arrival in different countries for them to meet us at apartment or to send transportation to airport.

Vonage also allows free calls to a US number from anywhere as long as you register a US number with it. It can be used on the Ipad and Iphone. It also provides video calls for free.
the google hangouts app does the same thing. You should clarify that only calls back to the US are free since all these apps act like you are still in the US even though you are abroad. Calling non US numbers still cost $ but I’ve found google voice’s rates usually the most competitive per minute
