Air France was hosting an exhibit in lower manhattan which I attended a couple weeks ago which focused on how Air France was trying to gain business travelers from New York and the products they had to offer.
Here are some pictures form the event:
Entrance
Royal Cocktail party invitation
Not everyone likes Air France
Past flight attendant uniforms
Premium Economy Seats
Dining area
The Concorde
Flight bags
Business Class
First Class
Flight Attendants
Handing out ice cream sandwiches for everyone
This exhibit was very tastefully done in my opinion and each section was broken off based on cabin so the four main areas were Economy, Premium Economy, Business, and First Class.
I tried out the First Class seat, and wanted to recline it to test it out, when a Flight Attendant came running over saying that I could not put in the lie-flat mode. I thought that was kind of strange, since the whole point was to try out their product, no?
Overall it was a cool exhibit and am glad I went. Did you attend the Air France exhibit? What were your thoughts?
I went two weeks ago and just like you, found it to be very classy and stylish. I went at 3pm, giving myself enough time to see the exhibits and then enjoy some bubbly and macarons at 4pm. The premium economy seat is the same seat they already have in their fleets; though the economy, business, and La Premiere were all, indeed, new.
I wish they had more than 1 First Class seat so more people can sit on the seat. While I was there, a gentleman and lady were conversing in the First Class seat for at least 20-30 minutes!
Did the flight attendant in First Class (La Premiere) tell you that if you’re travelling with someone in business class or economy class, you may invite him/her to eat dinner/lunch with you in First Class?
@Joey, yes she told me that as well that they can come up and join you for dinner!
Ok whew! I thought I was dreaming when I heard that. There was a group of 4 of us listening to the lady and when she said that, we were in disbelief and literally repeated what she said and she nodded and explained to us that in French culture, they highly value the art of the meal & conversation. Thus, it’s ok for someone in economy or in business to join you at your seat for a meal. Hopefully someone can actually test this out for us someday.
